An exquisite 18th century wood face screen with a gently faded timeworn painting of treescapes and glimpses of old buildings and a village scene on both sides. It also has beautiful decorative lattice detail on the edges. It is cracked and very fragile and needs to be handled with care. However, it is still beautiful and whimsical, and makes a beautiful decorative accessory despite its damage. A wonderful example of 1800s life.
35cm length with handle x 24cm wide
Beautiful as a decorative piece. Place it on the entrance table or a coffee table on a pile of books or even a little easel. It would also look beautiful encased in a perspex box.
