They were a familiar sight in Edwardian drawing rooms, where they were used as tea tables, cake stand, or to display treasured ornaments. The folding design meant they could be brought out when entertaining guests and then folded away flat when not in use, an elegant and practical solution for the home. It’s a perfect addition to an outdoor garden too especially as it can fold up and be moved inside.

Quarter-sawn oak was a traditional way of cutting the log into boards instead of slicing straight, which produced the beautiful “tiger oak” grain you can see across the shelves.
