A charming handpainted oak box, dating from the late 19th century. I particularly love this one as so much care has been taken to handpaint it to resemble a box with inlay and marquetry. Marquetry boxes would have been expensive and this created the look and feel. A lovely little piece of history and perfect to store little tinkets or matches.
