We adore this abstract view of Hastings painted on wood. Glorious, expressive technique, and an atmosphere that oozes energy. Will add gorgeous colour and energy to a room.
Painted by Christine McCausland (1944-2020). We cannot see a signature but they are from a collection of hers. Not much information is known about the artist, however she was known to have been close to the British poet Martin Bell (1918 – 1978). Having met him circa 1965 and lived alongside him in Leeds for a while before moving to London in the early 70’s, having still been in regular communication with Bell until his death in 1978.
