A beautiful 19th century hot water pitcher with a pewter lid and rim, with exquisite decorative detail. I love the rope style handle too. The jug features a repeating geometric pattern and panels with floral or naturalistic motifs, very true to the Aesthetic Movement of the late 19th century.
It has a makers mark which indicates that it was registered with the Board of Trade. This mark specifically dates the design to July 25, 1882, based on the symbols within the diamond.
