This is a beautiful and very large, Georgian early 1800s hand-painted metal toleware tray. At the centre is a beautifully faded shepherd girl surrounded by sheep with lovely floral detail scattered around the tray. The diaper work is also so beautful. This is the lovely decorative pattern on the rim which repeats the diamond geometric design inspired by architecture and very popular at the time. Faded and elegant with some of the paint coming off in parts and a few dents but there is something beautiful about it and the patina is so lovely. A gorgeous antique statment piece and a very rare find.
