I love Victorian coloured botanical prints and this is a beauty. An original 19th century print of Robert Furber's "September" from the "Twelve Months of Flowers" ctalagoue which was published in 1730. It was a landmark in the history of botanical illustration and one of the earliest examples of a seed catalogue. Robert Furber was a British horticulturalist and his original 12 artworks were large, hand-coloured copperplate engravings, one for each month of the year. This print is framed beautiful behind glass in a thick wooden frame.
