I love these metal baskets - they have a fascinating and unexpected feel. You expect wicker - you get metal! They have been painted primitively with large yellow, red and cream spots, and handmade, with wonderful ethnic and rustic charm. I would suggest using purely for decorative purposes as there are tiny bits of the material that falls from the basket. They originate from Africa although not entirely sure, which region.
