A stunning textured, 19th century salt-glazed "Rhein Preussen" German earthenware jug/bottle. They were originally used to bottle the naturally carbonated spring water that was found in the Nassau region of Germany. The front of the bottle says "Rhein Preussen," with a symbol above. A wonderful piece of history and stunning decorative piece.
