A stunning textured, 19th century salt-glazed German earthenware jug/bottle. They were originally used to bottle the naturally carbonated spring water that was found in the Nassau region of Germany. It has the lettering and numbers “No 41 E” beautifully and delicately etched on the front. A wonderful piece of history and a stunning decorative piece.
