This beautiful and unusual wood panel with a 19th Century Lincrusta wall covering on one side and flock wallpaper on the reverse, will add glorious texture and story to your home. It has exquisite detail and although very timeworn in parts, it is an exquisite piece of decorative history. I love the idea of hanging it on a wall (create a gallery wall of unusual wallpaper panels) or it also look gorgeous lying flat on a table as a panel/tray to curate objects.
Lincrusta is a deeply embossed wallpaper or wall covering that was often used on wood panels in the 19th century, where it was commonly found. It was invented by Frederick Walton in 1877, who had pioneered the development of linoleum floor coverings in the mid-19th century.
