A beautiful vintage hand-painted Japanese kokeshi doll- the muted tones, black painted swirls and patina (polished) of the wood are glorious. Kokeshi dolls have been crafted for more than 150 years, each one is unique and they are thought to bring good luck and protection to the home. This large Kokeshi doll is signed. There are some marks on the face.
