This is a wonderful piece of culinary history - a small antique stoneware mustard pot, salt-glazed and handcrafted in Belgium. It was produced for Tierenreyn-Verlent, a renowned mustard maker and connoisseur brand established in 1790 with an apothecary style mustard shop in Ghent, Belgium. The mustard is still crafted in small batches in a factory beneath the store at the historic Marché aux Légumes (Vegetable Market).
“Fabrique de Moutarde” = Mustard Factory
“Marche aux Légumes Gand” = vegetable market.
It is in great condition with just one little chip. A perfect collectible or display piece.
