An exquisite life study in graphite pencil, by Elsie Littledale, who studied at the Liverpool School of Art in the 1920s. The bob hairstyle is a perfect reference to the style and glamour of the era. It is behind glass in its original gilt frame with a lovely timeworn patina. I love finding drawings like this, especially by female artists who would have been allowed to draw nudes for the first time since the strict rules of the Victorian era. This is a beauty.
