A beautiful and very large pitcher and bowl made from quadruple silver plate by the Imperial Silver Company circa late 1800s or early 1900s. It has lovely decorative detail with a timeworn patina with a few bumps and scratches. Such an unusual find and an exquisite decorative piece. The Imperial Silver Co was a trademark of the Reichenberg-Smith Co and later the A.F. Smith Co.
Quadruple plate silver is an item or object that has 0.0012 inches of silver coating on them. Items that are silver plated have a coat of 0.003 inches of silver on them. But items that are quadruple plate silver have 4 times that amount of silver coating.
