I adore this painting and its very special in so many ways. A beautiful and evocative portrait of a woman seated at a cafe waiting in anticipation. Gorgeous rich blue hues, wonderful technique and composition and a glorious and unusual vertical shape. It is signed and also has the original label on the reverse. It possibly dates to the 1940s. It does not have a frame but has lots of beauty and character just as is, either leaning on a sideboard or on a large easel. It is a little timeworn on the corners and one area where the paint has come off but this does not detract from the beauty of it.
