The beauty of rustic faded elegance, this is a gorgeous, 19th century yellow/ochre confit pot that is partially glazed with one handle intact. The other handle is partially broken. 'Confit" means "to preserve" in French, and these were traditionally used in French kitchens before refrigeration, particularly to preserve duck and goose.
