A beautiful shaker box made from bentwood or possibly balsa wood which is a very lightweight. Made popular by the “Shakers” arrival in America in the 18th century, these beautiful handcrafted boxes were used to store tea, grains, spices buttons and paint pigments. Gorgeous detailed design on the front and a lovely handle too with brass detail. In excellent condition.
