A beautiful antique T.G. and F. Booth "Lucknow" pattern platter dating from the late 1800s which is stamped at the base. It is ivory bodied and has a beautiful black floral design, very Aesthetic movement and a glorious geometric shape and crackled effect. We think it would originally have been the base plate of a tureen but we adore it as a decorative piece standing on an easel. Perfect for practical use too or simply lying flat on a coffee table.
T.G and F. Booth were brothers and manufactured earthenware and ironstone in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. As well as the pottery manufacturing business the brothers were also glass, china and earthenware dealers and merchants. The partnership was dissolved on 1st January 1887 amd Thomas Gimbert continued on his own account.
