The beauty of rustic faded elegance, this is a gorgeous, very large 19th century confit pot that is partially glazed with one handle intact. The other handle is partially missing. 'Confit" means "to preserve" in French, and these were traditionally used in French kitchens before refrigeration, particularly to preserve duck and goose.
