A beautiful vintage hand-painted Japanese kokeshi doll- the muted tones, carved detail, and patina of the wood are glorious. There is however a small crack in her head at the top which is why it has priced at this. Kokeshi dolls have been crafted for more than 150 years, each one is unique and they are thought to bring good luck and protection to the home. This large Kokeshi doll is signed by the maker on the base.
