A beautiful large and heavy vintage hand-painted Japanese kokeshi doll. I love the red and green decorative leaf detail and the stripes. It is polished wood and has a lovely patina and is signed on the base. Kokeshi dolls have been crafted for more than 150 years, each one is unique and they are thought to bring good luck and protection to the home.
