A stunning sculptural piece. I particularly love the delicate wire that is the rein that the rider holds. Elegant and regal. Looks like they are based on the Marly Horses which were two 1743–1745 Carrara marble sculpted groups by Guillaume Coustou, showing two rearing horses with their groom. They were commissioned by Louis XV of France for the trough at the entrance to the grounds of his château.
29cm tall x 20cm wide at base and 11cm deep
I Love this sculpture - the regal pose. The beautiful spelter patina and it would look wonderful displayed on a shelf or hallway table as a statement piece.
